Creating a new Leak Report
- Log into Transparent Earth.
a. Enter the Transparent Earth URL into a Chromebrowser window, and click Enter.
b. Enter your User ID and Passwordand click Sign In. The main Transparent Earth Window and Map will display. - Click the Operation Maintenance icon (upper right corner of the window).
The Operation Maintenance tool bar displays (upper left corner of the map). - Select the Create Leak Report icon (third from bottom).
All currently reported Leak Report points display on the map, and the mouse cursor turns into a small blue circle.
- Click the point on the map where the Leak occurs.
The Leak Report dialog displays with five (5) tabs:

Report must first be SAVED before you can attach any files to it. | ||
1. Click the Attach button. | ||
2. Click the Browse button. | ||
3. From the explorer window that displays, navigate to the desired document/file. | ||
4. Select the document/file and then click Open. | ||
5. In the New File dialog box, click OK. | ||
The document is attached to the Pigging Report and is available for open, review, or removal. |
- From the Status tab, you must have the Report Status set to Pending in order to save.
- Upon completion of the Leak Report tabs, click Save.
- Click Yes at the confirmation prompt.
- If any of the required fields are blank, the form will highlight all fields that need to be completed. You must complete all required fields in order to save.
- Click OK at the final confirmation prompt.
Editing a Leak Report
Editing a Leak report is as easy as opening an existing Leak Report, editing it, and saving it.
- Locate the applicable Leak Report.
See the Searching for and Opening a Leak Report instructions. - Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon.
- View the main Leak Report dialog box.
- Edit the report as necessary.
- Click Save, and then click OK at the confirmation prompt.
Deleting a Leak Report
Deleting a Leak Report is as easy as opening an existing Leak report and removing it form the map.
- Locate the applicable Leak Report.
- Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon.
- On the mail Leak report dialog box, click the Delete button (bottom right).
- Click Yes, and then click OK at the confirmation prompt.
Searching for and Opening a Leak Report
Searching for a Leak Report in Transparent Earth allows users to search for reports specific to details in the report in a Results Grid. A user can search for a variety of specific report attributes. The MapIt function directs the user directly to the Leak Report and allows the user to open/view/edit/delete the report.
- Inside the Administration and Module Dashboard on the left side of TransparentEarth, click Operation Maintenance.
All Operation Maintenance items functions display below, including the Leak Report (bottom of list). - Click Leak Report.
In the Search and Results Dashboard (bottom left of the screen), two drop down bars will be filled in. The top search bar will display Operation Maintenance and the second search bar will display Leak Report. The third search bar will say Search ALL.
- Click the Search button below to search for all available Leak Reports.
- To search a specific attribute in a report, change the Search ALL drop-down to the desired attribute.Inside the Administration and Module Dashboard on the left side of TransparentEarth, click Operation Maintenance.All Operation Maintenance items functions display below, including the Leak Report (bottom of list).
- Click Leak Report.
In the Search and Results Dashboard (bottom left of the screen), two drop down bars will be filled in. The top search bar will display Operation Maintenance and the second search bar will display Leak Report. The third search bar will say Search ALL.
- Click the Search button below to search for all available Leak Reports.
- To search a specific attribute in a report, change the SearchALL drop-down to the desired attribute.
- Select the applicable attribute (for example: Report_Name).
- Click the down-arrow to enable the drop down menu.
- Enter a value in the blank text box below the third attribute:
- Click Search.
- All records that match that criteria will display in the Search Results Grid.
- To open the record for review or editing, select the record in the grid, click MapIt.
The Leak Report will display on the map, highlighted. - Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon (left side of the map), and then click the highlighted Leak Report.
The Leak Report main dialog box displays.
- From the list of returned records (search results), you can to do all of the following:
- Double-click a line item and it will display on the map, highlighted.
- Click a record in the results grid, then click the MapIt button. The item will display on the map, highlighted.
- Use the general Drill Down Filter function to filter down to a meaningful record set or specific result: Type in part of a value and the list of records will automatically filter towards any record that has all or part of your entry in it.
- Click the Export Visible Fields button to export the visible records with the visible set of columns into a CSV file.
- Click the Export All Fields button to export the visible records with all possible columns into a CSV file.
- Modify Records Per Page by selecting different values from the records per page drop-down list.
You will see the following options: 10, 25, 50, 100, All.
Selecting one of these items should display that many records. - Click the column title of any column to sort the contents of that column, first by A-Z, then by Z-A. (Ascending-to-Descending, then Descending-to Ascending).
- Click the down-arrow to enable the drop down menu.
- Select the applicable attribute (for example:Report_Name).
- Enter a value in the blank text box below the third attribute:
- Click Search.
