Creating a new Leak Report

  1. Log into Transparent Earth. 
    a. Enter the Transparent Earth URL into a Chromebrowser window, and click Enter
    b. Enter your User ID and Passwordand click Sign In. The main Transparent Earth Window and Map will display.
  2. Click the Operation Maintenance icon (upper right corner of the window).

    The Operation Maintenance tool bar displays (upper left corner of the map).
  3. Select the Create Leak Report icon (third from bottom).

    All currently reported Leak Report points display on the map, and the mouse cursor turns into a small blue circle.

  4. Click the point on the map where the Leak occurs. 
    The Leak Report dialog displays with five (5) tabs:

  5. Complete all applicable information:

General Information Report Name Required
Automatically populates with:
LeakReport
User can modify the Report Name.
  System Required
Select the pipe system from the drop-down list.
  Pipeline Required
List of values pre-populates depending upon the System selected.
Select the Pipeline from the drop-down list.
  Facility Select the Facility from the drop-down list.
  Report by Employee Automatically populates with the current User ID.
  Supervisor Required
Select the appropriate Supervisor from the drop-down list.
The Supervisor selected will be notified of the Leak Report once the report has been saved in the Submitted status.
Leak Issue Details Issue Type Required
Select the Issue Type from the drop-down list.
  Cause Required
Select the Cause from the drop-down list.
  How Discovered Required Select a value from the drop-down list that describes who discovered the leak.
  Discovered By Use free form text to enter the name of the person who discovered the leak.
  Discovery Date Required
Click inside the Date field, then select the date from the calendar.
  Discovery Time Required
Click inside the Time field, then select the Hour and Minutes from the time grid.
Click outside of the time field to close the time grid.
  Consequence Required
Select the Consequence from the drop-down field.
  Operating Pressure Enter a number value for the Operating Pressure (At time of Discovery).
Unit of Measure: PSI.
  Twp, Rng, Sec, Qtr Sec If available, enter the Township, Range, Section and Quarter Section.
  State Required
Select the State from the drop-down list.
  County Select he County from the drop-down list.
List pre-populates based upon the State selected.
  Station+ Enter a number value for the Station.
  GPS Coordinates (Lat/Long) Automatically populates with the place of the point on the map.
  Estimated Volume Lost Required
Enter a number for the estimated volume lost.
  Repair Method Required
Select a Repair Method from the drop-down list.
  O'Clock Position of Leak Enter alpha/numeric value for the O'clock position of the Leak.
  Distance to U/S Girt Weld Enter a number value for the Distance to U/S Girth Weld.
Unit of Measure: Feet.
Replacement Details Heat Number Required
Enter alpha/numeric value for Heat Number.
  HydroTest Date Click inside the Date field, then select the date from the calendar.
  Outside Diameter Required
Enter a number value for the Outside Diameter.
  Wall Thickness Required
Enter a number value for the Wall Thickness.
  Begin Lat/Long Enter the Lat/Long coordinates for the beginning of the pipe section.
  End Lat/Long Enter the Lat/Long coordinates for the end of the pipe section.
  Manufacturer Required
Enter the Manufacturers Name.
  Seam Type Required
Select the Seam Type from the drop-down list.
  Coating Type Required
Select the Coating Type from the drop-down list.
  Coating Thickness Required
Enter a number value for the Coating Thickness.
Unit of Measure: mil
  Length Replaced If available, enter the length of the pipe replaced.
Unit of Measure: (ft).
Status Report Status Required
Select the proper status form the drop-down menu.
Workflow rules outline the available Status options.
Pending > Submitted > Rejected or Approved.

  Report Completed By Automatically populates with the current user name.
  Report Completed Date Automatically populates with the current date.
  Report Submitted By Automatically populates with the current user name who submits the Leak Report.
  Report Submitted Date Automatically populates with the current date.
  Report Approved By Automatically populates with the current user name who approves the Leak Report.
  Report Approved Date Automatically populates with the current date.
  Last Modified By Automatically populates with the current user name.
  Last Modified Date Automatically populates with the current date.
  Report Comments Manually enter any applicable comments for this Pigging Report.
Attachments Use this tab to attach any applicable documentation or photographs.
NOTE: the  Pigging
  Report must first be SAVED before you can attach any files to it.
  1. Click the Attach button.
  2. Click the Browse button.
  3. From the explorer window that displays, navigate to the desired document/file.
  4. Select the document/file and then click Open.
  5. In the New File dialog box, click OK.
The document is attached to the Pigging Report and is available for open, review, or removal.
  1. From the Status tab, you must have the Report Status set to Pending in order to save.
  2. Upon completion of the Leak Report tabs, click Save.
  3. Click Yes at the confirmation prompt.
    If any of the required fields are blank, the form will highlight all fields that need to be completed. You must complete all required fields in order to save.
  4. Click OK at the final confirmation prompt.

 

Editing a Leak Report

Editing a Leak report is as easy as opening an existing Leak Report, editing it, and saving it.

  1. Locate the applicable Leak Report. 
    See the Searching for and Opening a Leak Report instructions.
  2. Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon.
  3. View the main Leak Report dialog box.
  4. Edit the report as necessary.
  5. Click Save, and then click OK at the confirmation prompt.


Deleting a Leak Report

Deleting a Leak Report is as easy as opening an existing Leak report and removing it form the map.

  1. Locate the applicable Leak Report.
  2. Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon.
  3. On the mail Leak report dialog box, click the Delete button (bottom right).
  4. Click Yes, and then click OK at the confirmation prompt.

 

 

Searching for and Opening a Leak Report

Searching for a Leak Report in Transparent Earth allows users to search for reports specific to details in the report in a Results Grid. A user can search for a variety of specific report attributes. The MapIt function directs the user directly to the Leak Report and allows the user to open/view/edit/delete the report.

  1. Inside the Administration and Module Dashboard on the left side of TransparentEarth, click Operation Maintenance
    All Operation Maintenance items functions display below, including the Leak Report (bottom of list).
  2. Click Leak Report
    In the Search and Results Dashboard (bottom left of the screen), two drop down bars will be filled in. The top search bar will display Operation Maintenance and the second search bar will display Leak Report. The third search bar will say Search ALL.

  3. Click the Search button below to search for all available Leak Reports.
  4. To search a specific attribute in a report, change the Search ALL drop-down to the desired attribute.Inside the Administration and Module Dashboard on the left side of TransparentEarth, click Operation Maintenance.All Operation Maintenance items functions display below, including the Leak Report (bottom of list).
  5. Click Leak Report

  6. Click the Search button below to search for all available Leak Reports.
  7. To search a specific attribute in a report, change the SearchALL drop-down to the desired attribute.
    1. Select the applicable attribute (for example: Report_Name).
    2. Click the down-arrow to enable the drop down menu.

  8. Enter a value in the blank text box below the third attribute:

  9. Click Search.
    1. All records that match that criteria will display in the Search Results Grid.
    2. To open the record for review or editing, select the record in the grid, click MapIt
      The Leak Report will display on the map, highlighted.
    3. Click the View/Edit Operation Maintenance icon (left side of the map), and then click the highlighted Leak Report.

  10. From the list of returned records (search results), you can to do all of the following:
  11. Double-click a line item and it will display on the map, highlighted.
  12. Click a record in the results grid, then click the MapIt button. The item will display on the map, highlighted.
  13. Use the general Drill Down Filter function to filter down to a meaningful record set or specific result: Type in part of a value and the list of records will automatically filter towards any record that has all or part of your entry in it.
  14. Click the Export Visible Fields button to export the visible records with the visible set of columns into a CSV file.
  15. Click the Export All Fields button to export the visible records with all possible columns into a CSV file.
  16. Modify Records Per Page by selecting different values from the records per page drop-down list. 
    You will see the following options: 10, 25, 50, 100, All. 
    Selecting one of these items should display that many records.
  17. Click the column title of any column to sort the contents of that column, first by A-Z, then by Z-A. (Ascending-to-Descending, then Descending-to Ascending).
  18. Click the down-arrow to enable the drop down menu.
  19. Select the applicable attribute (for example:Report_Name).
