Creating Locate eForms

The Locate eForms available in Transparent Earth are:

  • Locate Form (Generic)
  • NEB Safety Zone Excavation Request
  • AER Controlled Area Excavation Notification

Users can also create Locate eForms from within PointMan. Locate eForms created in either application are visible in both applications.  Creating a Locate eForm 

  1. Log into TransparentEarth.
  2. Click the Layers icon (upper tool bar, on the right) to open the Layers panel.

  3. Click the check box next to the following layers to turn them on (only click the layers you want to see): 
    a.  'Locates > Locate Forms

    b. 
    One Call > Live Ticket'
    Transmissions

  4. Search for the applicable One Call ticket: 
    In the left side dashboard, click One CallLive Ticket Transmissions

    a. Scroll down to the lower section of the Searchdashboard, and click Search
    RTENOTITLE
    b. In the Drill Down Filter field, enter thenumber of the One Call ticket. 
    The search results grid will display the One Call Ticket that you entered.

    c. Double-click the record, and the One Call ticket polygon will display on the map, highlighted.

  5. Create the Locate eForm: 
    In the upper toolbar, click the PointMan icon. 
      
    The PointMan tool will display three (3) additional tools in the upper left corner of the map:

    a. Click the PointMan New Mode tool to turn it on. 
      RTENOTITLE
    The cursor turns into a cross hair (+). 
    b. Click on the map, inside the One Call ticket polygon. 
    c. The New Place Mark dialog displays.

    d. From the System drop-down, select Form
    e. From the Component drop-down, select Document
    f. Click OK
    g. Click the Line Locate > One Call item from the eForm list. Be sure to select the sub-item, the one with the OneCall Ticket Number as part of the PDF title. 
    If the location of the locate is in the United States:

    Or, if the location of the locate is in Canada:

    h. Click OK
    A new eForm will open with some of the preliminary information populated (OneCall Ticket NumberDate Ticket IssuedAddressPlace,County). 
    i. Complete the rest of the fields within the form. 
    Click the form title below to display the field-level details for each form: +Line Locate eForm details +NEB Safety Zone Excavation Request +AER Controlled Area Excavation eForm details

l.  When complete, click the Save button atthe top of the Locate eForm.

The eForm will close and you will return to the main map display. 
A point will display on the map at the location you created the eForm (within the One Call polygon)

 

 

  1. To view the eForm:
  2. Click the View Attribute Information button in the toolbar.

  3. Click the eForm point on the map. 
    The Info screen displays all information captured in the eForm:

    1. Click the Form.pdf link in the Info dialog (see image above). 
      The eForm will open.
    2. Click the Edit button to make changes to the eForm. 
      When your edits are complete, click Save and the eForm will close.
    3. Click the Download button to download the eForm to your desktop.
    4. Click the Close button to close the eForm window.
  4. To send notification of the eForm to a specific PointMan User: 
    a. With the Info dialog box open, click the Notify button. 
    b. In the To field, select the user(s) youwant to notify. 
    c. In the Subject field, enter a subject. 
    d. In the Note field, enter a note ormessage to the user. 
    e. Click the OK button. +The Notification dialog box will close, and a message will be sent to therecipients PointMan account (on the tablet). That user can then open thenotification, click the message, and see the point and the eForm in PointMan.

 

  1. To Move the eForm point: 
    With the Info dialog box open, click the Move button. 
    a. Click on the map at the new location. 
    b. Click the Save button (lower rightcorner of the map). +The point will be saved in the new location.

 

  1. To Delete the eForm: 
    Click OK at the confirmation prompt. 
    The point will disappear and the eForm will no longer be available.
